Presets¶
A preset stores a full patch: every dial and pad value, the playhead settings, modulation and MOVE, the delay, Stretch, the pitch and key settings, the Area Select region, and the audio buffer itself. Loading a preset brings back both the sound settings and the sample.
The preset browser¶
Tap the preset name in the top-left of the top bar to open the browser. At the top are three rows:
- Save current⦠saves the current patch.
- Import audio file⦠opens the iOS file picker so you can load your own audio.
- Record performance starts a performance recording. It appears in the standalone app only. See Recording.
Below them are the lists. Tap any row to load it. A checkmark marks the preset that is currently loaded. Close the browser with Done.
Favorites¶
Every row has a star at the right. Tap it to add the preset to FAVORITES, which sits at the top of the list once you have one. Factory favorites come first, in catalog order, then your own alphabetically.
Factory¶
Factory presets are grouped by character. Each row has a one-line description.
| Group | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Clean Stretch | Smooth, sustained pads and long tones. First Patch, Two Birds Hanging Out, Solid Pad, Sax Duel. |
| Frozen | Clean, crystalline freezes. Spectral Crystals. |
| Wide | Bright or slow sweeps spread across the stereo field. A Most Pleasant Saw, Clarinet Pretends It's A Violin. |
| Weathered | Irregular, unpredictable textures. Broken Harmonica, Grain Hocking, Extreme Weather, Wall Of Sound. |
My presets¶
The presets you save are under MY PRESETS. Swipe a row left to delete it. Factory presets cannot be deleted.
Save¶
Save current⦠asks for a name. If the name is taken, the app adds a suffix so nothing is overwritten.
Step through presets¶
The two chevrons on either side of the preset name step to the previous or next preset and load it. The list wraps around at the ends.
By default the chevrons step through all presets. In the browser, the FAVORITES header has a toggle that reads "Chevrons: all" or "Chevrons: favorites". Set it to favorites and the chevrons step through your favorites only.
Unsaved changes¶
When you change any setting after loading or saving a preset, a * appears after the name in the top bar. It clears when you save again or load another preset.
Import and export audio¶
- To load your own audio, use Import audio file⦠in the browser, or drag a file from the Files app straight onto the waveform.
- To export the current grain buffer as a WAV, long-press the waveform and choose Export audioā¦. This is useful after you record a Live capture and want to keep the raw audio. See Recording and Live mode.
